Stressors in today's climate frequently leave people in a prolonged and highly damaging state of persistent ‘fight or flight’.
Take just a second to purposefully focus on your jaw and allow it to relax, now do the same with your shoulders.... being in constant 'fight of flight' tenses our muscles and triggers our nervous system. To neutralise this state, we must return the body to a more natural resting state of ‘rest and digest’. This is achieved through stimulation of the vagus nerve.
Emersion in the healing sounds of medicinal instruments will balance electromagnetic energy in the body utilising the frequency of the vagus nerve to help with alleviation of anxiety and bring the body back into balance.
Other forces in play with our busy lives also bring our mind, bodies and souls into a state of unbalance including, insomnia, fatigue, illness, high levels of stress and poor diet.
As you are guided through the breath work, your body will start to balance the oxygen and carbon dioxide in your body allowing it to return to a more natural state of calm. The pH level in your blood is a delicate balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide and if the blood becomes too acidic, the brainstem is finely tuned to trigger the stress response, sending messages to the diaphragm to initiate a breath to bring in more oxygen to rebalance the blood. In turn this stimulates the vagus nerve and we learn to be conscious of returning to breath in daily life to calm the mind when entering into an agitated state.
You will also have the opportunity to tap into your intuition and practice allowing more trust in your own judgement and learn how perspective is the main factor when faced with thoughts and challenges.
